Lori Andreachuk, K.C.

Lori Andreachuk, K.C. brings decades of experience in family law, adjudication, and dispute resolution. A graduate of the University of Lethbridge and the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, she was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1978 and became the first female partner of a Lethbridge law firm in 1980. Appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1992, Lori has held numerous leadership and advisory roles, including service as a Bencher of the Law Society of Alberta and as a long-standing Commissioner with the Alberta Human Rights Commission. Her work has contributed significantly to the development of human rights, civil justice, and alternative dispute resolution in Alberta, making her particularly well-suited to complex and sensitive family law matters.

Robert G. Harvie, K.C.

Mediator and Arbitrator

Robert G. Harvie, K.C. is a senior mediator and arbitrator and a former family law lawyer with over 37 years of experience in legal practice. A graduate of the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law, he returned to Lethbridge where he built a distinguished career focused primarily on family and divorce law. Robert now brings the depth of that legal experience to his work in private dispute resolution. Robert holds a Q.Arb designation through the ADR Institute of Canada and Alberta and is trained as a Collaborative Lawyer. During his legal career, he appeared at both trial and appellate levels across Alberta, resulting in numerous reported decisions involving family property, divorce, and constitutional issues. In addition to his practice, Robert is a respected legal writer and educator. He has contributed extensively to LawNow Magazine and previously served as Editorial Board Chair for Law Matters, a publication of the Canadian Bar Association (Alberta). His extensive courtroom experience, strong understanding of family law principles, and analytical depth make him particularly well-suited to complex family law mediation and arbitration.

The Honourable James H. Langston

Arbitrator

The Honourable James H. Langston brings extensive judicial experience to his role as an arbitrator with Southern Alberta Mediation Arbitration (SAMA). As a former Justice of the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, he has presided over a broad range of complex civil and family law matters and is well versed in evidentiary analysis, procedural fairness, and reasoned decision-making. His arbitration practice reflects a strong adjudicative foundation, a disciplined approach to process, and a focus on delivering clear, timely, and principled written decisions. Justice Langston’s experience makes him particularly well-suited to complex, high-value, or trial-style arbitrations requiring procedural rigor and finality.

Tyler Pollock

Mediator and Arbitrator

Tyler Pollock is a family law mediator and arbitrator whose practice emphasizes proportionality, accessibility, and efficient dispute resolution. He brings a practical, process-focused approach to mediation and arbitration, with experience assisting counsel and parties in resolving family law disputes in a timely and cost-effective manner. Tyler is well-suited to interlocutory matters, interest-based mediation, and arbitration processes where clarity, efficiency, and focused decision-making are required. His approach aligns closely with the objectives of Alberta’s Family Focused Protocol and the evolving expectations of modern family law practice.

Rate: $450/Hour

Subject to availability, counsel may request a specific mediator or arbitrator. SAMA professionals are also available to assist in determining process suitability and designing an Integrated Dispute Resolution Plan.
